Introducing Ourselves Dr Philip Carr graduated in 1973 and founded Central Vet Surgery in Mareeba in 1988.
Dr. Bridget Newman graduated in 2006 from University of Queensland and joined the team late 2007. Bridget has her own cattle stud located near Roma, Qld and enjoys working with cattle, horses, dogs, cats and wildlife.
Dr Angela Radford is a tablelands girl who grew up in Mareeba. Angela graduated from the University of Queensland in 2005 and joined our team in June 2008. She has previously worked at Tableland Veterinary Surgery in Atherton and Weipa and then Innisfail/Tully Vet Surgery. Angela enjoys all aspects of veterinary work but her interests are geriatric care and aural health in all creatures great and small.
Our nurses Perri, Tanith, Fiona, Desleigh & Monique all hold nursing qualifications and are widely experienced in animal health care.
Introducing Our Practice Our practice is centered on domestic pet care, extending to farm animals, fish production, avian medicines and wildlife rehabilitation.
The surgery building is a renovated Queenslander house extended to provide modern hospital facilities. There are two consulting rooms, air conditioned theatre, radiology & laboratory areas, isolation room, grassy outside pens for dogs and horses, and a relaxing spacious waiting area.
